Cuisines from Around the World – Cooking up Indian
Join Shilpi from ezcompliments on Zoom for an exotic Indian cooking class. Indian food is meant to be enjoyed by everyone. Diverse Indian dishes are great for people seeking vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, heart-healthy, and diabetes-friendly meals. With 12 years of experience teaching cooking, Chef Shilpi will help you personalize any meal to fit your diet, preferences, and spice tolerance.
Chef Shilpi will be preparing two dishes, Chicken Korma and Pea Pulao. Korma or kurma is a recipe that is made with thick white gravy or white sauce. This white thick gravy can contain either vegetables or meat. The thick gravy is made from yogurt and other herbs and spices.
In India, Pea Pulao or vegetable pulao is an extraordinarily popular dish that is made using basmati rice, fragrant spices, and green peas. The amazing thing about this versatile, vegetable rice pilaf dish is that you can eat it alone or customize it.
Shilpi will share the many ways you can adjust the spices in both dishes and customize it to satisfy anyone in your family. Recipes and spices will be provided (must register ahead of time to ensure receipt of spice packets).
This class is sponsored as part of the “Cuisines from Around the World” grant we received from the Sherborn Cultural Council. We are working in partnership with the Sherborn Public Library in presenting this series.
