Transportation

JFK Transportation

The COA currently has a grant that will cover the cost of the coupons for JFK transportation. This will be offered as long as the grant funds are available. In times there isn’t grant funding, you can purchase the coupons.

You can purchase discounted taxi coupons from the COA  when you are in need of transportation. Cards cost $30.00 for a ten-ride coupon. We work with JFK Transportation in Natick. You call them directly to make your appointment. Medical rides to Boston can also be purchased for $20.00 a card. We have been working with JFK Transportation for several years. They are reliable, courteous.

Please contact the office to purchase your coupons. JFK can be reached at 508-653-4500. Due to the high demand in trips, JFK usually requires 2-week notice for medical trips/appointments. You should call at least a week before for local rides, or as soon as you know you will need a ride.

Dial-A-Ride

Dial-A-Ride is a ride share service offered by the MWRTA (MetroWest Rapid Transit Authority). They provide medical rides to Boston and Worcester and local rides to 16 MetroWest towns. Residents 65+ and/or disabled can use this service.

If you are 65+ you can fill out the application and then submit it to the COA. The COA staff will then provide an orientation.

If you are under the age of 65 with a disability  you will need to contact the MWRTA Call Center at 508-820-4650.

Once the application has been received and if approved, it will be entered into the MWRTA system. You will receive a confirmation letter along with the Dial-A-Ride policies and procedures.

Local rides cost $2.00 and $3.00 (one way) and medical rides are $5.00 (one way). Rides need to be scheduled 48 hours in advance.

Looking for Transportation other than JFK or Dial-A-Ride?

Ride Match is a statewide, online, searchable database of public and private transportation options in Massachusetts. You can find transportation options that serve your city or town, or “plan a trip” to find options to take you from your starting point to your destination. Ride Match was developed with older adults and people with disabilities in mind, so right on the homepage you can check off if you need accessible transportation. The Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA) originally developed Ride Match over 10 years ago so they could assist riders with information about other services above and beyond what GATRA offered. The tool worked so well in Southeastern Massachusetts that they received a grant from MassDOT to expand it statewide, which they did in partnership with the other transit authorities. Ride Match is online at www.massridematch.org.

Please contact the COA at 508-651-7858 for additional information.
